Time turns flames to embers

Dress and Coat - Primark, Shoes - Shoezone, Hat - H&M, Necklace - Pilgrim, Fur stole - A gift

2nd post of the day, get me. This is todays outfit, fairly vampy I guess but it makes me stand out in the white snow! I can't stop wearing this hat and this lipstick, they're definitely my favourite things this season. Dark lipsticks are kinda hit and miss with me, some lipsticks I try I look fine and others I look like I've been punched in the mouth, lovely. I got this dress yesterday from Primark, they also had it in black but I prefer this colour; it matches my lipstick haha. This afternoon has consisted of sledging to the top of my road to buy chocolate and biscuits with my mum, then watching old batman films with my family while stuffing our faces and drinking tea. How very British.

Sunday Summary Week 4

1. Reading in bed 2. Topshop parcel 3. Snowy London 4. Daisy looking at the snow 5. Daisy 6. Chilling in the snow 7. Cheeky shopping trip 8. Tea and cake 9. New top (and case)

It's been snowing like mad this weekend, and I've been making the most of it. I've been out sledging and shopping, picking up a few bits from Primark and Topshop (and a few bruises from the sledging!), which I'll do a post on later (the clothes, not the bruises..). I've had a lovely week and hopefully my geography exam tomorrow (25%!) won't ruin my good mood.

I'm lacking in inspiration for my blog at the moment, has anyone got any ideas of anything you would like to see more? Outfit posts are quite hard considering the weather at the moment but I'm going to try and post more!

Call it what you want

Coat and shoes- Primark, Dress - Topshop, belt - New Look (came with a skirt), Fur Stole - A gift

Hello! It's been snowing all day yesterday here in the South East, and I'm loving it. Yesterday school was cancelled so me and a few friends went down to our local woods and sledged down hills, got stuck on poorly constructed rope swings and froze our fingers off. The hills were so steep you go at about 100 miles an hour and more often than not you'd end up being flung off the sledge from hitting a bump in the snow. I think whenever I go out in the snow I forget all of my fashion sense and end up throwing what ever I can find on (including pyjama bottoms and wellies with stars on, I am not afraid to say). So today I'm taking it easy, watching the snow slowly melt and keep warm by the fire computer.

Re-decoration Inspiration

pictures from pinterest
A slightly different post today. I've been kind of re-decorating my room reccently, and at the moment my room is in a sort of 'inbetween stage'. By that I mean some of my furniture matches, but the rest doesn't and it looks a bit out of place. I would love to have a bedroom like the ones above, I love the heart made of photos and I was thinking about ordering some prints to stick on my walls to do the same.
Map and garland - Amazon, Candle - Yankee, Wallpaper - B&Q

I thinking about buying these things above, but I'm not sure which wallpaper yet, probably the white one (the one with no flowers). I'd quite like the map so I can pin on everywhere I've been, maybe a bit corny but I think it will be nice.

I might post some pictures of my room when it's finished, depends how it ends up looking haha.

Sunday Summary Week 3

1. Art pretty much done 2. bath 3. topshop order 4. mmmm 5. asos dress arrived 6. going for a jog to get fit (we were taking a break) 7. chocolate cornflakes 8. out for dinner 9. watching friends with daisy

Back to school this week, sigh. Pretty much my whole week has consisted of either art or some other type of coursework or exam. I can't wait until next June so I can be done with it all! I've also started doing some exercise, I'm planning on going running every Friday and doing a fitness dvd every Tuesday, and hopefully I'll have a flatter stomach for summer! So thats something I can tick off on my list of new years resolutions.

Lush Snow Fairy Wand

I've been meaning to write about this for a while but I never got round to it. I bought this in the Lush sale for half price, and I love it! It smells the same as the snow fairy shower gel - a mix of bubblegum and calpol. You swirl this in your bath under a running tap and it turns the water bubblegum pink and makes a few bubbles (which soon disappear). The smell is so gorgeous - and you can reuse it. I've used mine about four times and there's still lots left, however the stick is nearly coming off so I'm hoping it doesn't drop into my bath. Baths are literally my life at the moment because they're such a good way to relax, all these exams are killing me. Overall I love this and I hope they bring it back next year!

'Tag, you're it'

Hello! I was tagged by the lovely Katie from Gold Dust to do the 'tag you're it' post. Thank you for tagging me Katie!
The rules are:
Answer the 11 set questions
Set 11 questions for 11 people you tag
Mention the blog who tagged you
 My set questions are:
1. Why did you start a blog?
I started this blog September 2012, mainly because I have a love for fashion and beauty. I love reading different blogs and scrolling through lookbook, so I decided to make a blog myself. Having previously started a blog called 'Rosalee' in 2011, I decided I needed a fresh start with my blogging and decided to create Rosie's Closet.

2. What's your inspiration for posts?
I blog about products I've enjoyed, outfits and just generally things I think people might be interested in. I have a notebook which I use as my 'blog book' which I write down my ideas for posts and other bloggy things.

3. Do you have any new years resolutions?
Yes, you can read them here :)

4. What is the best thing about blogging?
I think the thing I enjoy most about blogging is seeing peoples comments and emails. Thank you everyone who follows me or comments on my posts, I appreciate all of you so much!

5. Have you got any holidays planned?
Yes! A few days ago my parents booked a holiday to the south of France, where we will be staying in a villa near Marseilles. It's going to be a bit of a funny holiday- me and my parents are flying out for one week, then my brother is meeting us for the second, then I'm going home half way through the second week so I don't miss my school prom. Not your usual holiday but I'm looking forward to it!

6. What's your favourite make-up brand?
Hmmm. I think Barry M, as it has the best nail varnishes, and really good lipsticks. It's also really affordable which is good because I'm always broke! If I had to pick another it would be Rimmel London.

7.  Do you prefer reading fashion or beauty posts?
Oh god I don't know... fashion. And beauty. I like reading them both!

8. What is a staple in your skincare routine?
My johnsons face wash. I've been using it since last summer and I love it! You can see a review of it here!

9. What was your best buy from 2012?
My River Island jeans I think. I wear them a lot, they're a pretty colour and fit me perfectly. I'm wearing them here if you want to see them!

10. Did you get any bargains during the sales?
Yes, lots! I did a post on them here, but I also got a lush snow fairy wand and a popcorn lip scrub for £2.50 each and a hunger games calender for £5.

11. What advice would you give to new bloggers?
Express your own opinions, don't over blog and loose interest too quickly, write about what interests you and enjoy it :)

My Questions:

1. What was the best thing you experienced in 2012?
2. What are you most looking forward to in 2013?
3. When and why did you start blogging?
4. What couldn't you live without?
5. Would you rather have good hair or good makeup?
6. Are you going on holiday this year? If so where?
7. What did you do this Christmas?
8. If your house was on fire and you could only save one thing, what would it be?
9. What do you love most about blogging?
10. What do you want more than anything in the world?
11. Name ten people you love.

The people I tag are:
1. Laura from Pale Girl Reviews
2. Jen from Jenxxhope
3.  Josie from Josie Loves
4. Grace from Other Infinities
5. Thalia from fashiongalaxiesxo
6. Hayley from Water Painted Dreams
7. Jade from Dotty Dolly
8. Grace from A Blog By Grace
9. Jade from A Little Lipstick
10. Abbi from Abbi Faye
11. And last but not least, my friend Precious who is new to blogging!

Hello! Most of my week this week has been spent painting my art coursework. If I ever see another shell/pod/dead plant I swear I am going to scream. Also this week I was in my friends music video thing (which you can see in the previous post) in the freezing cold -hence the dressing gown. I've been listening to The Vaccines, Lana Del Rey and The Wombats all week which has been getting me through this art.
Hope you've all had a good week!

Lush Popcorn Lip scrub

Hello! I bought this lip scrub the other day in the Lush sale for half price, and so far I really like it! I suffer (like so many others during winter) from dry lips, and this is a very quick fix. I mostly use this before putting on lipstick, because there's nothing worse than putting on lipstick with chapped lips. It does make it easier to apply lipstick and makes my lips much softer/smoother. After you finish rubbing it on your lips you're supposed to lick it off- I was a bit sceptical about this, because isn't that just licking off your dead skin? However, it does taste nice- maybe not as nice as the smell; the taste is slightly too strong for me (if that makes sense). This was definitely worth the £2.50 I spent on it, and I would like to try some other flavours next, like bubblegum which smells gorgeous. Unfortunately I don't think popcorn is sold anymore on their website as it was limited edition- but they sell lots of different flavours you can buy.

Blame it on my ADD, baby

Dress and Shoes - River Island, Necklace - Gifted, Belt - Primark
Happy New Year! *pulls party popper*. I hope you all had a lovely beginning to 2013 and your year is going to be filled with good things. I was a bit of a loner myself and did nothing on NYE, I sat in my pyjamas and basically did jack all, but oh well. I wore this yesterday when we went to wahaca at the southbank in London. It was lovely, if you have never been to wahaca and you live near London, then go! It's Mexican street food, and set up in this cute little restaurant with glass jars hanging from the ceiling and colour everywhere.

I'm sorry for the crap photos, I had to rely on flash and my dad for these ones, as it was too damn cold and too dark to figure anything else out. I wore my new River Island dress and shoes (which both can also be seen here). I also wore a cameo ring, which only went and snapped as I got in the car, after my third attempt of super gluing it back together. I also had on my black coat with the fur collar (which I wore here), but the photos for that looked awful because of the bad flash. Hope you all had a good evening!

I would also like to use this space to show my respect and love for my friend Olly, who died on this day two years ago. You are gone but never forgotten, rest in peace.
